Lasting Power of Attorney Application Fee
Before a Lasting Power of Attorney can be used by your attorney it must be registered with The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). They charge a registration fee of £82 per Lasting Power of Attorney. If you would like us to register your LPA for you then we will ask you to provide this payment to us in addition to our legal fee.
However, there can be an exemption for people who receive certain means-tested benefits, and a 50% fee reduction may be available based on the applicant’s financial circumstances or a reduction based on the applicant receiving Universal Credit. More information can be found on the website or provided to you at the time of taking your instructions.
Certificate provider cost
When making an LPA it may be necessary for us to ask your GP or another independent professional person to sign the LPA form as a certificate provider to confirm you have the required capacity. This may therefore attract an additional charge and as each case is assessed on its individual circumstances, we therefore cannot confirm the cost of the certificate provider until we receive your instructions and have fully assessed your case.
